Made in HIS Image…

God is making us in His image.  He is the Master Artist and creator of the Universe and we are His grandest creation!

Psalm 8:4-8 New King James Version (NKJV)

What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visita] him?
For You have made him a little lower than b]the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
All sheep and oxen—
Even the beasts of the field,
The birds of the air,
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.

Psalm 107

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,

And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Wisdom dwells with prudence…

Prudence is the ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason and when we ask for HIS wisdom instead of relying on our own understanding we get better results.

In the stillness we can ask and listen for the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us avoid pitfalls and difficulties.  It is better to be able to avoid things rather than have to be rescued or deal with things after marginal decisions have been made.  Trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding…  Prov 3:5

God designed us to live in dependence on Him.  He can see the end from the beginning and He is all-knowing  and because of this we can gain from seeking His guidance and wisdom in circumstances.

Ask Him for wisdom for our decisions – He gives liberally to all who ask for it!        James 1:5

5 If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father.  He loves to help.  You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it.  6 Ask boldly, believing, without a second thought.  People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves.  7-8 Don’t think you are going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.                    The Message James 1:5-6

I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion.           Prov 8:12

If you can’t figure out your purpose,

figure out your passion.

Joy in Giving

I love this post by Joyce Meyer about how our joy and peace will increase as we reach out to others!
Reaching Out to Others
– by Joyce Meyer

Daily Devo

God is passionate about helping people who are hurting and in need. Throughout the years, as I have become closer to Him and my love for Him has grown, I have become more determined to live each day in a way that will make someone else’s life better. God’s passion has become my passion.

Reaching out to others isn’t something we should pay lip service to. It should be a top priority of living the Christian life.

It takes determination and commitment to stretch ourselves to help others, but that’s how God wants us to live. God says that when you truly give and pour yourself out for others, He will use you. And when He uses you, your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday (Isaiah 58:10 NKJV).

If you reach beyond your own situation and bring Christ’s love to others, your peace and joy will increase, making the struggles you face seem to fade away. And you’ll experience the amazing satisfaction of making a difference where it counts.

So consider this: Do you need to rearrange your priorities to make God’s passion your passion? Ask Him to show you how you can reach out to others and bring His light and love to those who need it most.

Gratitude is the royal road to JOY…

We would not consider inviting a thief to come into our home and steal the things we find joy in but when we choose to compare ourselves to others, we invite a thief to steal our JOY!

Choosing gratitude for things in our life and focusing on the positive in our own lives helps ensure that we will have joy and happiness.  Gratitude is the royal road to joy and we can always find things to thank God for everyday!

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.        1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Vulnerability is the birthplace of CREATIVITY, INNOVATION AND CHANGE

Vulnerability is the birthplace of creativity, innovation, change and everything we are hungry for; love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, accountability, and authenticity.  You can’t get to courage without walking thru vulnerability. To make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength!

Embrace Imperfection!  Having the courage to be imperfect and our authentic selves allows us to be compassionate to ourselves and others. There is no prerequisite to worthiness.  We are enough.  Yes, I am imperfect and vulnerable and sometimes afraid, but that doesn’t change the truth that i am also brave and worthy of love and belonging;  Now – not if or when but right this minute – AS IS.

Most people believe vulnerability is weakness.  But really, vulnerability is courage.  Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage.  Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they are never weakness.

What makes you vulnerable, makes you beautiful!   -Brene Brown

To share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable; to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength.  -Criss Jami

Your vulnerability is a powerful gateway.  Stepping into invites growth, freedom, healing, your greatest love.  It is a pathway born from courage.                       -Danielle Doby

Laughter is an instant vacation!

Laughter is the sound of the soul dancing!

I have known loss in my life like  a lot of other people.  A few of those losses have been so deep that it felt wrong to laugh or have fun or to be happy at all; I felt guilty.   They were not happy times and after the death of someone we love it can be hard to even engage in life.  So many things seem so trivial and like they don’t matter.  But those are the things that life is made of….. and we can learn to laugh again.

Laughing is an instant vacation:

The body heals with play, the mind heals with laughter and the spirit heals with joy.

A child’s laughter is one of the most beautiful sounds in the world.

I love people who make me laugh….Audrey Hepburn.

Joel Osteen:  Laughter is like good medicine. Prov 17:22.  Find something that makes you laugh. See humor in life. Put on a smile. Be friendly. Be good natured.  Learn to Laugh.
